9 Trim the seam allowance to 6mm (¼in) and trim across corners. Turn through and ease out the corners.

10 Fill the sachet with rose potpourri and slipstitch the gap.

11 Make a pale pink and cream sachet in the same way but without any bead embroidery. Pile the sachets together and tie in a bundle with some sheer organza ribbon.

Fabric can be embellished with beads to create a really luxurious look – use the fabric pattern and colours to inspire the beading design. To transform a simple papier mâché or card box, stretch the beaded fabric over layers of wadding (batting) and finish with ribbon.

• Lightweight iron-on interfacing 25cm (10in) square

• Assortment of beads including seed beads, bugles and larger beads

• Box with lid 11.5cm (4½in) diameter

• Double-sided tape 1.3cm (½in) wide

• Thin wadding (batting) 12 × 36cm (4¾ × 14in)

• Thin card

• Grosgrain ribbon 40cm (16in) long

• Fabric embroidery marker
